Our Mission

505 Craft Collective, a 501(c)(3), exists to expand equitable access to fiber arts education. We strive to create an inclusive, welcoming third space where people, especially those historically excluded from arts access, can learn, create, and connect through knitting, crochet, weaving, and other fiber arts. By prioritizing accessibility, affordability, and belonging, 505 Craft Collective fosters creativity, confidence, and community connection while supporting individual well-being and lifelong learning.

Through 505 Craft Collective, we offer low- to no-cost classes in knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery—whatever sparks creativity.

This is about more than fiber arts.

It’s about connection. It’s about belonging. It’s about creating a safe, welcoming space for young people, for our queer community, and for anyone who needs a safe place to land. It’s also about bringing back the lost art of learning side by side; sitting next to someone, sharing knowledge, making mistakes, and creating something with your hands in real time.

In a world where so much is learned through TikTok and Instagram, 505 Craft Collective is creating space for real, human connection and reimagining what community looks like in Albuquerque.
